Technical Design & Structures Engineer (Lighting & Signage)

Mallatite Limited is a leading UK manufacturer of Lighting, Traffic, Display & Infrastructure & Signage Support Systems. As a result of recent and planned acquisitions we seek to recruit a qualified and chartered engineer to lead the technical design support function at our Chesterfield site, albeit supporting all business locations.

Candidates must have proven experience in lighting and sign columns and posts, passive structures and cantilever supports and be fully conversant with BS EN 40,  EN 12899 & BS EN 12767 2019 software packages, ideally within a manufacturing environment. Sound working knowledge of Auto-Cad and Solid Works or similar is required.

Trade Counter/Internal Sales, Roads Maintenance Equipment (Rutherglen)

 

Mallatite Limited, a specialist manufacturer & stockist distributor of street lighting and highways infrastructure equipment, operating within the Roads Division of Hill & Smith (Holdings) PLC is seeking to appoint a Trade Counter/Internal Sales person for our D Gibson (Road & Quarry) division based initially from our service centre at Inchinnan, Paisley.

Applicants shall have a broad experience of products such as Roads Maintenance & Surfacing Materials & Equipment, Signage, Traffic Management & Control Materials & Equipment, together with an established customer portfolio across, contracting, house builders, local and central government & groundworkers.

The Role:

·       Selling into Local Authorities and main contractors for all products.

·       Establishing new customer relationships, and maintaining existing relationships.

·       Managing and interpreting customer requirements.

·       Calculating client quotations.

·       Offering after-sales support services.

·       Supporting & developing trade counter business.

Job Description

Title :  Distribution Networks Overhead Lines Poles - Sales Engineer

Location:  UK Based

Job summary:  

In partnership with Jerol and having conducted significant, testing, development and trials, we now seek an experienced design and installation engineer to promote the distribution poles, fall arrest systems and accessories across the UK Distribution Network Operators and contractors.

Applicants must have extensive installation and maintenance experience, together with pole design understanding, albeit product training will be given.

A sound knowledge and influence of DNO activity and approach is required for this role that will require travel across the UK and Ireland.

The Role

Based in either Chesterfield or Glasgow with regular travel between both, the Divisional Manager will have direct and overall responsibility for the production, commercial sales, transport and staff management.

Job Description: Stores Operative / Delivery Driver

Location: Rutherglen

Reports To: Materials & Logistics Controller (Stores),

Typical Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm / Friday 8am to 4.30pm

Drivers within the Mallatite/Hill & Smith Group do more than a “driving job”. It is a customer facing role and it is essential our customers get great service and a great impression of the drivers and of course the business.  You will be presentable, helpful, and well mannered, have a clean vehicle and ensure all paperwork is correct and have a positive mind-set.

As well as driving, you will work within the Stores team performing general duties including checking and booking in stock as well as dealing with despatch.   Ensuring housekeeping is kept to an excellent level to ensure robust health and safety within the site.

Key Skills;

Clean licence.

Current CPC.

FLT/Counterbalance Licence

Manual handling skills.

High Levels of Health, Safety & Welfare standards.

Excellent attitude, aptitude and communication skills.

Role:                            Production Planner & Customer Liaison

Location:                      Minor Structures & Products Division – Chesterfield, S42 5SA

Responsible to:             Production Manager, or as designated

 

Key duties;

  • Ensure robust and effective customer communication with regard to production planning in conjunction with Logistics Co-Ordinator.
  • Must have significant experience and awareness of Sage (preferred) ERP/MRP modules including stock and component management.
  • Significant experience of Lean Manufacturing derived from Production Planning.
  • Work closely with Production Manager to achieve 95% + OTD.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication via Microsoft Teams meetings giving update on OTIF (on time in full).
  • Reporting on KPI`s internally and externally.
  • Awareness of stock management and FIFO supporting the Production Plan.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel & Project Planning supported by Statistical & Mathematical Logic.
  • Develop cost -down and outputs up through strong and effective planning and direction.
  • Support Commercial Sales Team as necessary.
  • Develop with the Logistics Co-ordinator planned loads to achieve maximise utilisation of vehicles and journeys.
  • Experience within a metal fabrication business preferred.
  • Ability to interrogate Production Performance & Outputs from well-developed Business Operations experience.
  • Must have exampled experience of multi-channel tasks and ability to achieve time of the essence objectives.
  • Undertake all other reasonable tasks as directed by Management.
