Job Description: Stores Operative / Delivery Driver

Location: Rutherglen

Reports To: Materials & Logistics Controller (Stores),

Typical Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm / Friday 8am to 4.30pm

Drivers within the Mallatite/Hill & Smith Group do more than a “driving job”. It is a customer facing role and it is essential our customers get great service and a great impression of the drivers and of course the business.  You will be presentable, helpful, and well mannered, have a clean vehicle and ensure all paperwork is correct and have a positive mind-set.

As well as driving, you will work within the Stores team performing general duties including checking and booking in stock as well as dealing with despatch.   Ensuring housekeeping is kept to an excellent level to ensure robust health and safety within the site.

Key Skills;

Clean licence.

Current CPC.

FLT/Counterbalance Licence

Manual handling skills.

High Levels of Health, Safety & Welfare standards.

Excellent attitude, aptitude and communication skills.

Key duties;

Applicants shall have a desired experience of products such as Traffic & Commercial Signs, Posts, Sign-lights, VAS & Signage, together with an established customer portfolio across, contracting, house builders, local and central Government, and traffic management contractors – although training would be provided for suitable candidates.


The Role:

·       Selling into Local Authorities and main contractors for electrical, signage, structures and associated products.

·       Prospecting and establishing new customer relationships as well as maintaining/growing existing relationships.

Title:                Technical Design, Support & Innovation Lead.

Reports to:       Production Manager / Operations Team Leader, or as designated.

Location:          Chesterfield


Key duties:

•    Review all applicable job data, including PO`s, project plans and specifications to determine characteristics of order to establish product development objectives.

 •   Prepare and update layouts, detailing drawings, calculation, specifications, documenting instructions as necessary.

•    Work closely with all functions of the business to ensure that the most economic, safe/suitable and most cost-effective design is achieved.

•    Produce CAD drawings for equipment and mechanical design details to specific requirements.

•    Review details of drawings, product codes and BOMS during and prior to being issued for manufacture.

•    Apply and supervise the application of safety standards to those products and services.

•    Advise management of development project status while adhering to all company and corporate policies.

•    Assist procurement department with sourcing production materials and subsequent raising of production orders for said items.

•    Support production with organising and supporting weld test and supporting certificates.

•    Assisting Production where necessary to improve manufacturing outputs and drive innovation.

•    Supporting site with any IT issues when required.
